Two Lashkar Terrorists in a Residential Region of Anantnag in Jammu & Kashmir were Gunned Down by Security Officials Today

A woman civilian was killed during a cross-firing amid security forces and militants.

Security forces killed two terrorists together with Lashkar commander Bashir Lashkari in a major gun battle in J&K which was finished today. Jammu & Kashmir Inspector General Munir Khan confirmed that two civilians also died at the same time as two others were wounded in the crossfire amid security forces and terrorists who were holed up in residence in the area. Sources supposed three Lashkar insurgents, counting Commander Bashir Lashkari were trapped in the house ordered by the government forces. The region, witnesses, alleged is witnessing aggressive protests as natives trying to march to the encounter spot.

An officer supposed the search operation curved into an encounter subsequent to the terrorists used residents as human shields and opened fire on defence forces. Clashes blew up and incidents of stone throwing were also reported in the region. The police alleged that security forces were attacked when they commenced an operation in Batpora village following a tip-off that at least two terrorists were hiding in a house.

In the cross firing, a woman named  Tahira Begum, with  Shadab Ahmad Chopan sustained injuries throughout the encounter and were rushed to the area hospital, but they could not be saved as per a senior officer.

“Defence forces were fired at when they launched a process in Batpora village following a tip-off regarding the militants hiding in a house.” .he added that “In the cross firing, the woman was wounded and afterward surrendered to her injuries.”

Three more injured including a minor were also hit by bullets throughout the clashes. “Two of them are being treated at District Hospital Anantnag,” alleged the official. He recognised them as Aqib Ahmad and Jasir Ahmad.

He supposed that one more civilian who was hit by a bullet in his face was referred to Srinagar for specialised treatment. SP Vaid, DGP, Jammu & Kashmir alleged that Bashir Lashkari was involved in martyring of six police officers. I applaud police and defence forces for carrying out encounter.

Lashkari is alleged to be the mastermind of the 16th June terrorist attack when a police party was trapped in the outskirts of Anantnag region of South Kashmir. Six policemen, together with a Station House Officer of Achabal region were killed in the assault.

The terrorists first conquered them, then hopelessly shot them in their faces from close range and run away with their weapons. Earlier on 24th June, two terrorists, who were holed up in the Delhi Public School in Srinagar’s Panta Chowk, were counteracted by the defence forces the next day.
